What is a good program to set complete restrictions on a computer?
Hi there,
I have a teenage daugther who is staying up extremely late on the computer and there is not much I can do as it causes massive fights within our house.
Now, I'm not looking for parental advice, I'm simply looking for a program that will completely lock her out of the computer from set times, (say 10-7) unless a special password is entered which only I will know.

doesnt exist, however i have just looked on my laptop and there is a way you can configure settings on the computer to do what you ask for
before i write an essay, if it makes no sense click START and click HELP AND SUPPORT...and search parental controls, this will explain it
now how it works is you will have to make another user account on your computer which your child uses, you will then put restrictions on this account, heres a step by step (assuming you have vista or windows 7)
1) go to control panel
2) click 'user accounts and family safety'
3) now, click 'create new user account', give it a name
4) when the user account is added click on it and click 'on, enforce current settings'
5) click on 'time limits' below and a graph will appear
6)on the graph click on the hours when the user will not be allowed on
by the way dont forget to change the administrator password...hope this made some sense, if you have WINDOWS XP then it will be similar with a slight variation
