Assembler: I have written a keyboard handler which keeps track of Caps Lock, but the light doesn't come on

I've been trying to write a mini-os, and right now I'm having a go at a keyboard handler. I have the basic functions - letters and the top numbers and a few other keys, with Shift and Caps Lock working perfectly, apart from the fact that the Caps Lock light doesn't come on & off automatically. How do you set the status of the 3 lights on the keyboard?

When you are handling keyboard interrupt, are you using bios interrupt routine?
Are you passing things back to bios or your keyboard driver?
For handling lights once you write the byte into the keybord buffer it automatically turns on/off.
So check whether when you get key up/down events you pass then to keyboard driver without modifying them.
